We increased the display resolution and thought we were hitting restart system after *that* change... but alas it was a MS *update* message and it proceeded to install 37 system updates. After that, when the laptop starts we get a picture screen with date and time, and cannot get out of it. Those cute little "charms" will not come out, no matter how we coax them. :(
Is there anything on the keyboard that will get this screen changed, so we can possibly find Control Panel again? Lenovo did not include any info about their keyboard layout, which surprised me. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Have there been any problems with Win8 updates recently?
Nevermind... I think I've discovered the problem is my ignorance. This is my daughter's laptop and I did not know she has to enter a password every time she logs in... and that's why the sign out page was all I could get... it's also the "sign in" page.
It's the first time I had seen Win8 ... and I was too frustrated to pay enough attention. Mea culpa....
It's a great PC, but I can't write what I think about Win8. ;)
