I have a game installed on my PC on the c: drive (Sniper Elite V2). Strangely, two days ago, Upon opening my computer, I was surprised that I couldn't start the game from its shortcut. So, normally I tried to navigate to the game's folder only to be encountered with the dreaded 'SniperEliteV2 is not accessible access is denied'.
So, I embarked on a trip with Google trying to find solutions for the problem but nothing has worked.
I have tried every possible way I could find but none solved it:
1) I could NOT change ownership as an 'unable to set new owner' and 'access is denied' error appeared.
2) I used Unlocker and could not delete on next reboot.
3) The takeown /f c:\ (folder) did not work, even under recovery mode. Cmd ran as admin.
4) Used Anti-Virus trying to open or quarantine files but it did not
work.
5) net user adminstrator /active:yes in cmd and logging to its account did not help either. same error.
I am really frustrated and I hope there is a solution to this problem :(.
