Is there a way, to have Windows connect to Cisco IPSec in the same way a Mac does? In other words, with out using the Cisco VPN Client software.
For instance...
In Mac, after the one time creation of the connection in your network preferences, you simply click the VPN icon in the menu bar, a prompt pops up immediately to enter your pwd. You enter the pwd, and you're connected immediately. There is absolutely no delay in connecting.
On the Windows side, you have to open up the Client software, wait for it to load, and then it prompts for the pwd. Then you enter your pwd and wait more for the connecting\authenticating\securing etc., then it logs you in and you're connected. Way too much waiting involved.
But there has to be a way to skip the Client and all the bull, and allow Windows to simply do this on it's own. I would assume if you leave the software out of the equation, it would be just as quick connecting to VPN as the Mac.
