I have four partitions on my 80 GB hard disk. Each of them are 20 GB. My Windows XP Professional is installed in C drive.
Now I am planning to get a new hard disk of 500GB. I am also planning to install windows 7 on this new hard disk by creating a partition of 125 GB. But I am wondering what will happen to the already existing OS in my C drive on my old hard disk. Do I have to format it?
And also I would like to know whether formatting is required when you are upgrading storage space by installing a new hard disk along with the old one.
I have 4 SATA ports and one IDE port on my motherboard.
